The Dexterra solution extensively
utilizes Microsoft’s .NET and .NET Compact Framework
technologies. VS.NET and the .NET Compact Framework not
only simplifies the product development tasks, but also
opens up a larger compatible community of applications and
over 4 million skilled developers able to configure the
Dexterra solution.
Dexterra developed a set of core .NET Services that are
wrapped with Web Services for interoperability. One example
of a Dexterra Web Service is a connector that enables our
technology to interoperate with any ODBC and/or Web Services
API.
Dexterra achieved it’s design goals by delivering
a set of .NET services ensuring maximum reliability, reusability,
availability, performance and cost predictability.
Microsoft’s .NET Framework enabled our development
team to build a technology platform designed for interoperability
and scalability. Dexterra took advantage of the .NET Framework
libraries and Visual Studio .NET thus enabling more development
and testing time to build features and functionality as
opposed to infrastructure and communications development.
Additionally, Dexterra’s Web Services development
orientation allows for our core services to be consumed
by a broad range of technologies.
The physical architecture consists of the following functional
components:
Connectors; which non-invasively
integrate the Enterprise Applications into the Dexterra
solution
Dexterra Server; which is
a meta-application that provides information, applications
and business processes to the Dexterra Client, and ensures
managed data integrity between Dexterra and the Enterprise
Applications
Dexterra Client; which controls
the role based business processes using ForceFlow, FieldFlow
and FormFlow techniques, and the communications to the Dexterra
Server over the wired and wireless Internet
In addition, configuration of the Dexterra Client applications,
data-integrity management, ‘hyper-data-links’
and other aspects of the Dexterra Server are carried out
using the Dexterra Administrator. Visual Studio .NET is
used by application developers and administrators wanting
to configure or customize the Dexterra Client applications
and functions with utilizing Dexterra’s plug-in technology
for VS.NET.
